Chicoan hangs 101st Airborne flag to honor D-Day Vets

CHICO, Calif. - Today marks the 70th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion.  To commemorate the day Bob Mulholland, a Democratic consultant in Chico, hung a 101st Airborne flag on his house.

Mulholland himself was a member of the  101st Airborne during the Vietnam War and feels a special kinship to the 101st which were the first American soldiers to land on French soil 70 years ago today.

"I think it's important for the World War II guys, many whom can't get out that often, to remember and recognize them for this," said Mulholland. "[The Nazis] were the greatest threat to America and the world."
