Notre Dame to add year-round preschool

CHICO, Calif. - Notre Dame School in Chico is growing, as it will add a year-round preschool starting in August.

The preschool, which is for children between two-and-a-half and five years of age, will be at 500 Orient St., which is approximately one mile from the main campus on Hazel Street.

"Children will receive just as fine of an education as they would get at the regular school," said Terri Schwabauer, the principal at Notre Dame. "And they're going to have a Christ-centered environment."

"We'll have prayer and a little bit of religion," she said, adding that academics will a primary focal point as well.

Schwabauer anticipates as many as 60 children when the preschool begins in August.  The cost has yet to be decided.
