OROVILLE, Calif. - The Oroville Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the parking lot of Walmart Monday at about 4:16 p.m. Four suspects are still on the loose.

According to officials, the suspects are believed to be from the Sacramento area. The driver shown in the surveillance video above is described as a young African American woman. The passenger is an Asian American woman.

Police said the two women were meeting the victim in the Oroville Walmart parking lot to buy marijuana. When the victim went to the car to get the marijuana, another two African American men wearing hoodies to cover their face jumped out from the trunk, shooting the victim several times in his upper body.

After the shooting, the suspects drove away in a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Nissan, with paper plates. The car was last seen southbound on Feather River Boulevard.

"These suspects are very dangerous, if they're going to shoot somebody in broad daylight at a busy shopping center, that's very reckless and dangerous and we need to take these types of people off the streets and hold them accountable for what they did," said Oroville Police Lieutenant Chris Nicodemus.

Officers said the victim remains in critical condition and at a local hospital receiving treatment.
