Thousands feast to support the Honey Run Covered Bridge

CHICO, Calif. - Thousands of people enjoyed a pancake breakfast at the historic Honey Run Covered Bridge Sunday morning.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office brought in the famous Captain Bob's Pancake Wagon and passed out thousands of pancakes.

Money raised from the 49th annual pancake breakfast helps keep the covered bridge in Butte Creek Canyon up and functioning.

Along with flapjacks there was also live music and a clown that made animal balloons for the kids.

"It's an awesome event that we are able to support the bridge and maintain it and for people in the community to come together," said Nick Salerno, President of the Honey Run Covered Bridge Association.

500 people were expected to show up but more organizers said many more came out to support the bridge.
