Two people hospitalized after early morning shooting in Chico

CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people in the hospital. 

According to police, on Sunday, around 1:44 a.m., the Chico Police Department dispatch received a report of multiple shots fired in the area of 775 E. 16th Street. Officers responded to the area but did not locate any victims. 

Officials said around that same time, two victims arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. The victims were in stable condition at the time this article was written. 

Police said the victims were in the area of the Dorothy Johnson Center when their vehicle was shot multiple times. The motive for the shooting has not been determined but the investigation is ongoing.
