Update: Chico Car Crash Sends a Young Woman to the Hospital

CHICO, Calif. - A 21-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after a car crash Tuesday morning in Chico.

Chico Police said the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on the corner of West 8th and Ivy Streets.

21-year-old Carly Teal was driving her Volkswagen STI when she pulled out into the intersection and was broadsided by 21-year-old Kevin King driving a 1989 Ford F-250 pickup truck.

Chico Fire Dept. used the Jaws of Life to get Teal out of car and she was transported to the hospital.

"We are a little concerned about the support cable that the black Volkswagen struck after the collision so we'll have PG&E look at to make sure it's safe," said Chico Police Sergeant Rob Merrifield.

Teal had non life-threatening injuries.  King walked away with no injuries
