CHICO, Calif. -

Chico police were busy Saturday night collecting a pair of stolen cars and making a couple of arrests in the process.

In the first incident around 5 p.m., an officer responded to the report of a stolen 2000 Honda Civic in Chapmantown.

The victim's friend told police he or she saw the vehicle in the area.

When an officer spotted the Civic turning off Boucher St. onto Virginia St., the driver immediately pulled over.

Jeffrey Thompson, 31, was arrested for car theft.

The second stolen vehicle, a '94 Honda Accord taken out of Paradise on September 18, was stopped on Salem St. near 11th St.

The driver, 28-year-old Sarah Eggleston, was arrested for car theft and for being in possession of controlled substances.

Both vehicles were returned shortly after each stop.
