RED BLUFF, Calif. -

According to investigators she exhibited abnormal signs earlier in the day.  While visiting friends in Red Bluff the child continued to exhibit abnormal signs and stopped breathing.  At 8:15 p.m. 911 was called. First responders attempted to revive the child and she was transported to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation is being conducted jointly between the Red Bluff Police Department and the Tehama County Sheriff's Office. The child resides in the county  jurisdiction.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday to determine the cause of death.  The investigation is ongoing.
