REDDING, Calif. -

Haven Humane is freezing dog adoptions after two dogs died from a mysterious respiratory ailment.

Haven Humane CEO Mark Storrey tells us the dogs' symptoms include greenish discharge in their eyes and nose, lethargy, and loss of appetite.

Seven dogs are showing symptoms.

The non-profit has chosen to freeze adoptions as a precautionary measure, saying they would rather be safe than sorry.

Haven Humane has been taking in animals for many years from the City of Redding, but this year, they are also taking in animals from Shasta County Animal Control.
