Shasta County Sheriff’s department say that a domestic disturbance escalated into a shooting this morning. It started with a report of a domestic disturbance at a home on Sans Souci Drive in Redding.
Sheriff's deputies got there, and say the matter was resolved when a few of the people at the location left.
Shortly after that, deputies say 19 year old Jesus Cisneros called then and said 37 year old Cass Criner fired a shot through the window of the car Cisneros was driving in the area of Airport Road and Dersch Road in Anderson.
Officers say Criner fled in his vehicle, a blue Dodge Ram along with two passengers Hillary Criner and Henry Martin.
Sheriff’s deputies found the car on I-5 northbound and made the traffic stop on the intersection of Shasta Dam Boulevard and Cascade Boulevard in the City of Shasta Lake.
All three were taken into custody without incident. Cass Criner was arrested for assault with a firearm. Deputies say he admitted he shot at Cisneros.
No one was injured in the incident. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says the case is still under investigation.
