Driver arrested for DUI, three hospitalized after VW bug slams into tree
Three people were treated at the hospital, after their car slammed into a tree early Friday morning in Redding. Police said the driver would be arrested for driving under the influence.
The crash just before 1:30 a.m. Friday at North Point Drive and Baywood Drive on the city's north side.
Redding Police said the driver was under the influence when his older Volkswagen Bug slammed into the tree.
A private security officer found the car with three people trapped inside. He said the two passengers briefly lost consciousness.
The driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said they were headed to the hospital to arrest the driver for DUI.
