The CHP has released the name of the driver killed in a truck crash in Tehama County Thursday afternoon. Troy Hartman, 42 of Redding, died when the truck ran off Highway 99W near Gerber.
The collision happened at 2:49 p.m. just south of Chard Avenue.
The Sierra Pacific truck drifted off the right shoulder and into a ditch, hitting two trees, a concrete pipe and a metal culvert.
Hartman died at the scene.
The CHP said he was wearing a seat belt and speed was not a factor.
About 25-30 gallons of fuel leaked out onto the dirt shoulder. Sierra Pacific Industries is coordinating the clean-up.
