REDDING, Calif. -

Redding firefighters responded to an early morning blaze that damaged a home on the city's south side.

The fire was reported just after 4 a.m. Tuesday, at 1648 Sonoma Street, just off South Market Street.  No one was inside when the fire started.

Firefighters  contained the blaze to the first floor of the split level home.   Firefighters tell us there was a fire at the same home a year ago.  The damage Tuesday morning appeared to be in the rear of the home.
