CHICO, Calif. -

Butte County parents learned how to protect their kids from cyber predators Thursday night.

The Butte County Office of Education sponsored the event at Enloe Medical Center's conference center.

An undercover FBI agent told parents about explicit pictures being sent in text messages and through apps like Snapchat and the dangers that can cause.

"The Internet is changing all the time, and there's going to be things that we were up on and know about today that will change tomorrow,” said Ann Brodsky, a concerned grandmother.

The agent said it's important not to let your children their computers or gaming systems in their rooms, and devote a day to research on what sites that kids go on.
