REDDING, Calif. -

Police responded to a stabbing in Redding Wednesday morning after a 24-year-old transient woman stabbed her 45-year-old boyfriend.

The stabbing was reported around 11 a.m. on Smile Place, just east of Freebridge Ave.

When police arrived on scene, they learned that 24-year-old Monica Gange stabbed her boyfriend, Ryan Palmer, two times in the back and at the top of his head with a fixed-blade knife.

According to police, Gange was reportedly driven from the area in a white pickup truck.

Police are continuing to search for Gange. She is described as a white female, 5'7", 175 lbs., bright red hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Redding Police Department at (530) 225-4200.
