CORNING, Calif. -

Two fires are keeping firefighters busy in Tehama County Sunday. The first broke out around 1:30 pm and threatened homes along South Avenue near Columbia Avenue in Corning.  Firefighters used a helicopter to make drops from overhead.  

The strong winds fueled the flames before it was contained at 15 acres.  The flames burned within a few feet of homes and a garage.

The second fire broke out around 2:30 pm about 14 miles west of Red Bluff near Highway 36 & Vestal Road.  It's burning in a very remote area.  At last check it had burned about 3 acres.
