It was a close call for a family in Bella Vista Saturday morning after a fire broke out in their attic.

It happened off the 12000 block of River Hills Drive around 10 a.m.

Becky and Don Durben were inside their home when a driver from Highway 299 noticed smoke coming out of their flue.

The driver then pulled over and knocked on their door to tell them.

Firefighters rushed to the home and quickly put out the blaze.

"We were really thankful that someone cared enough to stop and not assume that somebody would know or we would know,” said Don Durben.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Total damages are estimated around $100,000.
