CORNING, Calif. -

North winds whipped a vegetation fire in Tehama County and it swelled to about 225 acres.

The fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. off Rancho Tehama Road near Paskenta Road.

Dozens of firefighters in the air and on the ground quickly rushed to put out the blaze. Fire investigators believe a cigarette might have started the fire.

No structures were threatened, and no one was hurt.
