CHICO, Calif. -

If you're traveling Highway 32 through the mountains of Butte & Tehama Counties you will have to find an alternate route during weekdays.

Starting Monday, July 29, the highway will be closed Monday-Thursday east of Chico.  The 24-hour closure will last through September.

Highway 32 will re-open to one lane traffic Friday through Sunday.  On weekends travelers can expect 15-minute delays.

The $2.4 million project will allow Caltrans to build 12-foot lanes and 4-foot shoulders near Elam Campground.
