GREENVILLE, Calif. -

A 5.7 earthquake six miles northwest of Greenville in Plumas County rattled the Northstate on Thursday night and the quake had several people asking if the activity had anything to do with Lassen Volcano.

CSU Chico Geology Professor Russell Shapiro said it was not the kind of earthquake associated with volcanic activity.

Shapiro also said the location was too far away for it to be related, and would need to be closer to the volcanic center, or in this case, Lassen Peak.
