REDDING, Calif. -

A gas leak on the 2200-block of Marilyn Ave in Redding briefly prompted evacuations nearby.

Evacuations were in place on all of Marilyn Ave. to the east of Alta Mesa.

There were also road closures -- Alta Mesa was closed between Hartnell and Galaxy.

According to Redding Fire Department, an excavator working on the house broke a meter. The gas is now shut off but pipe was exposed and was leaking.

At around 12:45 p.m., we learned that all evacuations and road closures had been lifted.

Gas was restored at 1:20 p.m.
