Junior lifeguard training offered at Whiskeytown Lake
Fourteen students between the ages of 11 and 18 were taking a class at Whiskeytown Lake on Tuesday to get a Red Cross lifeguard certification.
Although there is a requirement that lifeguards have to be at least 15 years old, all of them will be learning water and safety lessons. They also have the the opportunity to become CPR certified.
The students who are younger than 15 will not get to become lifeguards but they will receive a junior lifeguard certificate and patch.
