If you were startled by a statewide AMBER alert on your phone on Monday night, you were not alone.

The message was from the Wireless Emergency Alert System, a program you were automatically enrolled in depending on your phone and service provider.

The service sends out AMBER Alerts, as well as Imminent Threat and Presidential alerts.

You can visit The Wireless Association's website here to see what phones get the alerts by provider (the list is on the right-hand side of the page).
