REDDING, Calif. -

The Shasta Interagency Narcotic Task Force (SINTF) helped Shasta County deputies arrest a 52-year-old Redding man who was allegedly trying to sell more than a pound of ecstasy pills.

SINTF was called at about 2:15 p.m. on Monday to assist with the arrest of a man who was reportedly trying to sell pills to passersby near the area of the railroad tracks near Oasis Road.

When deputies arrived, they located Roy Bishop, who had three active warrants from Shasta County. When deputies searched Bishop, they found a one-gallon zip lock bag which contained 1.6 lbs. of ecstasy pills.

Bishop was arrested for his warrants and for possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for sale.

He was booked at the Shasta County Jail.
