McARTHUR, Calif. -

A man was arrested late Saturday night, accused of walking along Highway 299E in McArthur and shooting randomly at vehicles and pedestrians.

Deputies were called to the area around 8:20 p.m. after the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls.

The CHP and CAL FIRE also responded.  A CHP officer detained Roman Price, 21, and found the gun that was used.  Deputies also located several expended shell casings in the town of McArthur.  As of Sunday morning, deputies were contacting several victims so they can be interviewed.

Deputies said Price was uncooperative after his arrest and his motive remains unclear.

Deputies arrested Price for brandishing a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in a negligent manner and terrorist threats.
