MAN HIDES BEHIND ENTERTAINMENT CENTER TO AVOID POLICE

REDDING, Calif. -

Shasta County1A Redding man hid behind an entertainment center in his home to avoid being arrested.

A warrant was served for 47 year old Michael Wayne Steele on the 2900 block of Robert Court in Redding at 1:55 P.M. on Friday afternoon. Police say Steele refused to answer the door.

Investigators ultimately entered the residence. That's when they found him hiding behind an entertainment center. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a residence where narcotics are used or sold, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.

24 year old Haley Marie Oilar of Redding was also in the home at the time. He was arrested for resisting arrest, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and being present at a residence where narcotics are being used or sold.

During the search Investigators located methamphetamine, and methamphetamine paraphernalia.

This was the second search warrant served at this location in less than five months.

The warrant was served by officers and investigators from the Redding Police Department along with special agents from the California Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Special Service Unit.
