A juvenile female was sent to the hospital in Oroville on Sunday with a gunshot wound in her back.
On Thursday, the Butte County Sheriff's Office released that their investigation determined that the shooting was an accident but the 26-year-old who shot her, Donald Patric Browning, will not be allowed to own firearms and/or ammunition.
Butte County Sheriff's deputies searched for Browning, serving search warrants at two separate Oroville residences. They found five firearms, all of which were recently reported stolen. Browning was not located at either of the homes.
The deputies eventually located and arrested Browning at a Thermalito residence on Thursday morning and found two more firearms at the residence, one of which was recently reported stolen.
Browning was booked at the Butte County Jail on a $70,000 bail.
