Man sentenced for armed robbery of a marijuana collective
A Redding man has been sentenced to 14 years, plus 75 years to life, for armed robbery.
Ivan Roosevelt Vercher was sentenced for robbing Trusted Friends, a medical marijuana collective in downtown Redding.
Vercher provided the getaway car and was the lookout while two other people, 19-year-old Joshua Wright and 16-year-old Elijah Potillor robbed the collective on Sept. 15, 2011.
Wright plead guilty and is currently serving a five-year sentence. Potillor still awaits sentencing.
A third person, 16 year-old Caleb Vitellaro drove the getaway car. He was placed on probation after pleading no contest.
Vercher was sentenced under the three strikes law; he had ten prior strike convictions for armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.
