GERBER, Calif. -

Tehama County Sheriff’s officials said a Washington man who was visiting Corning was attacked by three men Saturday night.

Officials said 22-year-old Ignacio Flores Geron had been in Corning for three days looking for work. They said Geron was in a park in Corning where the three unknown suspects approached him.

Geron said the men grabbed him, put him in a car and robbed him. Then the suspects stabbed him in his back, abdomen and buttocks. Officials said the men then dropped Geron in a ditch off of Rawson Road and Gyle Road in Gerber.

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office has no description of the suspects and said they are looking for help from the public.

“We don't know who they are, we don't have any good descriptions yet at this point,” said Lieutenant Yvette Borden. “I think we have to go back to the old adage, stranger danger, don't flash your money and if you're talking to people you don't know because you don't know if they might be using that as an opportunity to see what you have and try to take advantage of you."

Geron was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery. The suspects are believed to be around 20 to 25 years old. If you know anything about this incident contact the Tehama County Sheriff's Office.
