REDDING, Calif. -

The number of homeless people in Redding is increasing and whether you believe it's good business, or out of compassion, there is a growing movement to give them somewhere to stay during the day.

The Redding City Council will host a meeting on August 19 to talk about the Homeless Day Center concept.

Council Member Missy McArthur said that while the city has no money to put toward a place for the homeless during the day, the concept is certainly worth talking about.

Homeless people and formerly homeless people talked of a service that was near the park but is no longer available.
