REDDING, Calif. -

A Mercy Medical Center ambulance was involved in a minor accident Sunday evening while transporting a patient to the hospital.

It happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the area of Clear Creek Road and Highway 273.

The accident itself was minor, with no visible damage to either vehicle.

But a second ambulance had to be called to the scene with lights and sirens to transport the patient who was in the first ambulance at the time of the crash.

That patient was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center - also with lights and sirens activated.

It's not clear whether the condition of the patient was impacted by what happened.

The ambulance crew was not hurt, nor were the woman and child in the second vehicle.
