REDDING, Calif. -

A motorcycle accident sent a man to the hospital in Redding Thursday morning.

It happened just before 10 a.m. on Churn Creek Road just north of Hartnell.

Police said the driver of a pickup truck didn't see the motorcycle on Churn Creek Road and pulled into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider laid the bike on its side to avoid direct impact, and slid into the truck causing minor damage.  The motorcyclist, a man in his 50's or 60's, complained of pain and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup, a man in his 70's, was not injured.  Traffic was backed up until the collision was cleared around 10:30 a.m.
