REDDING, Calif. -

Authorities are at a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near the south end of the Pit River Bridge.

According to Caltrans, the collision involved two big rigs and a UPS truck. There is a diesel spill and injuries reported.

Witnesses said some vehicles were stuck waiting over the water on the bridge.

Redding CHP said that officials are currently attempting to move the vehicles involved in the crash. CHP said there is a temporary hold on traffic on I-5 south only until the vehicles involved in the accident are moved out of the way.

Southbound lanes remain blocked south of Pit River Bridge and now, northbound I-5 is back open.

Witnesses at the scene say that traffic is beginning to move very slowly.
