REDDING, Calif. -

Folk were treated to pro tennis Thursday night at the Sun Oaks Athletic Club.

An exhibition match with some of the top local professionals was put on to benefit Ascension.

The Ascension Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of tennis players using a team approach.

Executive Director, Jeremiah Walsh said, "Ascension is the introduction of the future model of tennis success in the United States."

Walsh and others that help run the non-profit are working to raise both funds and awareness to help North State youth potentially move on to the next level.

"We've been sending players off to college from Redding, which hasn't happened in a long time," said Walsh.

Some of the professionals that played were Katie Ross of Redding and Macole Harkins, who's ranked 200 in the world in doubles.
