Dish Network negotiations ongoing

Viewers can still get their favorite programming by switching providers or over the air

Bonten Media and DISH Network are currently in negotiations to reinstate carriage of KRCR, KCVU, KAEF and KBVU programming on DISH Network in a fair and timely manner.

Other cable and satellite providers in the area will continue to carry KRCR, KCVU, KAEF and KBVU programming, and you may sign up with one of them to continue receiving your favorite local and national programming from our stations. A list of other cable/satellite providers in your area is located on the bottom of this page.

In addition, viewers should keep in mind that all KRCR, KCVU, KAEF and KBVU programming can be received over-the-air through the use of an antenna that receives our over-the-air signal, for all viewers in our service area.

The local and other programming provided by KRCR, KCVU, KAEF and KBVU is important to viewers in the Northstate; including programs such as KRCR Newscasts, NFL Football, and MyTV programming. It costs our stations millions of dollars to provide this important and desirable programming and Dish Network charges its subscribers to receive this popular programming from us.

We are as disappointed as DISH subscribers that they have lost many of their favorite shows, along with local news and weather from KRCR. We would like to return KRCR, KCVU, KAEF and KBVU programming to DISH, if DISH would compensate us with a fair amount that totals just a few pennies a day per subscriber.

Here are a few things DISH knows but hasn't told you:

• The amount we are asking from DISH is just a few pennies per subscriber per day.

• Our need for compensation is largely driven by increasing costs placed upon us by the television networks.

• Most other cable and satellite companies recognize that our request is justified and are already paying us a similar amount.

• The amount we have asked DISH to compensate us is less than 20% of what they are paying ESPN.

• You can still receive your favorite programs via over-the-the air with an antenna, or by switching to DirecTV or another provider on the attached list.

We are a small company that is attempting to negotiate with a large, multi-billion dollar company (DISH). The future of local television depends on our being able to be adequately compensated for the programming we provide.

We have not yet been able to reach a fair agreement with Dish Network for carriage of our networks. Negotiations are ongoing, and we are working hard to resolve this issue in a fair and timely manner.

If you would like to voice your concern, please contact DISH at 1-800-823-4929.
