ANDERSON, Calif. -

Anderson Fire Department officials said the fire broke out in a home on Webster Drive at 7:04 p.m. Saturday night.

When crews arrived on scene they found the home, mostly the garage, fully involved with flames.

Up to six engines responded, including several from Shasta County Fire and CAL FIRE.

Firefighters got the blaze under control around 7:30 p.m. and prevented it from spreading to nearby homes.

Officials said there were three people home when the fire broke out, several witnesses said two people in the neighborhood helped an elderly man out of the house.

On Saturday night people from the neighborhood congregated to watch the firefight.

"All I saw was flames, just big gigantic flames coming out of the garage," described Sheila Hernandez.

Hernandez said her mother was one of the good samaritans who helped remove the elderly man from the home.

"It was pretty scary. I thought the whole place was going to fall."

No one was injured in the fire.

How it started is under investigation.
