A pedestrian was treated for minor injuries after being hit by a car in Chico Saturday night.
The collision happened at 7:03 p.m. at W. 5th Street and Walnut Street in Chico’s south campus area near Chico State University. Police said a 25-year-old Chico resident entered the crosswalk and was struck by a vehicle driven by a 67-year-old Chico resident.
The pedestrian attempted to leave the scene after the collision but was later transported to Enloe Hospital for minor injuries. The investigation showed the pedestrian entered the roadway on a red light and was then struck by the vehicle
The incident happened approximately 24 hours after a bicyclist was struck by a car in Chico, leaving her critically injured. Police said Janee Nickerson, 20 of Chico, was considered brain dead and was being kept on life support so that her organs can be donated.
