Alva P Taylor Hall on the Chico State campus has almost entirely been demolished and the university is offering pieces of an iconic mural painted on one wall to the public.
Artist John Pugh painted the mural on the eastward facing wall in the early 1980s and has now painted murals for private and public entities worldwide.
As the university preps the site for a new Arts and Humanities building they're demolishing Taylor Hall and the mural must come down as well.
A number of people have expressed fond memories of the building and the mural so the university will be giving out pieces of the work to anyone who's interested.
"We've had about 50 people contact us and we certainly feel like we are going to have more pieces that we can make available," says Chico State Public Affairs Director Joe Wills. "And it's wonderful how many people really love this mural and how excited they're going to be when they see the new version come 2015."
Anyone who wants a piece of the wall can email Joe Wills and make a request.
