REDDING, Calif. -

Redding Police are looking for a hit and run driver who ran into a motorcycle and took off.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. Monday at Hilltop Drive and Browning Street.

Police said a man riding a Harley Davidson was making a left turn onto Hilltop Drive, when a red car ran a red light, and clipped the front wheel of the motorcycle.

The bike was knocked over in the middle of the intersection.  The woman in the car drove off northbound on Hilltop.

The motorcyclist was not injured.  Stephen Bray said he couldn't believe she would leave him lying there, not knowing if he was hurt.

"I don't know why anybody would take off after you hit someone," said Bray.  "It seems a Christian person would stop, even if you don't have insurance, to see if the person is all right. ."

Witnesses describe the hit and run driver as a dark-haired woman in a faded red or brick colored car, possibly a small sedan.  A piece of black molding was found at the scene, and is missing from the suspect's vehicle.
