PARADISE, Calif. -

An overnight alarm at Paradise High School landed one man in jail Tuesday morning.

Police said 34-year-old Christopher Smith was trying to jimmy the door to the school office.

Smith was taken into custody.  Officers said Smith had a backpack with a flashlight and screwdrivers as well as burglary tools.  He was wearing black gloves, dark clothing and had a second "booster" bag commonly used by burglars to conceal stolen property.

Smith was booked into the Butte County Jail on charges of attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and violation of probation.
