Police respond to report of shots fired at downtown motel

CHICO, Calif. -

Chico Police responded to a report of shots fired at downtown motel.    

It happened around 6:45 a.m. Monday at the Heritage Inn at Broadway and West 8th Street.  Someone reported a group of men armed with guns had kicked in a door, and fired shots.

Police said they found evidence that shots had been fired.  They believe the suspects may have been trying to steal the victims' marijuana.  They are still investigating how many people may have been involved.
