Oroville Police have arrested a a suspect for a shooting at an apartment complex Wednesday.
Joseph Solansky, 29 of Oroville, was arrested on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, ex-felon in possession of firearm/ammunition, vehicle theft and possession/transportation of methamphetamine.
The shooting happened Wednesday around noon at an apartment complex at 1872 Fifth Avenue. At the crime scene bullet shell casings were located and bullets impacted the roof of a vehicle parked at the apartment complex.
Police said two people reportedly fled the location in an SUV with broken windows.
Witnesses said the suspect had driven off in a white Dodge Ram truck. Police identified Solansky as the suspect in the shooting.
At 1 p.m. on the same day a witness reported objects being thrown from a white truck in the area of Foothill Boulevard. Officers recovered evidence there that including a loaded handgun magazine and methamphetamine. The caliber and ammunition found on the edge of the road matched the bullet shell casings at the crime scene.
The white truck was later found on a side street.
At 4 p.m. Wednesday, police spotted Solansky leaving his residence in the 1200 block of Pomona Street. Police said he was driving a stolen 1999 Nissan truck. He was booked on a series of charges.
The investigation is on-going into the identity of additional suspects and possible victims.
