ANDERSON, Calif. -

A man was arrested in Anderson early Monday morning after a chase through several yards over several fences.

Police said they responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area of Balls Ferry Road around 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police were provided information that the car may have been stolen by Daniel Shankles, 23.

Officers spotted the abandoned vehicle along Briarwood Drive around midnight.  They spotted Shankles on Daisy Street.  After a foot chase over several fences and through several yards, they arrested Shankles in the 3100 block of Briarwood.

Police said they found him in possession of stolen property, heroin and meth.
