CORNING, Calif. -

Tehama County Deputies responded to the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning Monday to monitor a protest.

The casino and resort is run by the Paskenta band of Nomlaki Indians.  Members of the tribe who were recently removed organized the protest.

Lieutenant Yvette Borden with the Tehama County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called in around 6 a.m. to help keep the peace.

The casino remained open.
