REDDING, Calif. -

A man who police say robbed a Redding Circle K gas station has turned himself in.

On Thursday at 4:35 a.m., Redding police were dispatched to a robbery at the Circle K on Westiside Road. Upon arrival, an employee, Hiede Lynn Carmichael, 43, said a white man in his 40s had robbed her.

Police said that the suspect entered the business acting suspicious, waited for all of the other customers to leave the gas station, approached Carmichael and asked for the money in the cash register.

Carmichael said that the suspect reached into his waistband to act as if he had a weapon and told her that she would get hurt if she didn't give him the money.

After getting the money, the suspect ran away. Police later found out that he was an acquaintance of an ex-employee.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, the suspect, who had been identified as Christopher Franklin Anderson, 41, turned himself into Redding police.

He was booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery and violation of parole.
