REDDING, Calif. -

CAL FIRE responded to a roadside fire on Interstate 5 Tuesday morning.

It started around 10 a.m. along the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, approximately one mile south of Knighton Road.

There were several spot fires that burned a total of about  1 acre.

The fire has been contained.  CAL FIRE is investigating the cause.

Investigators were talking to the driver of a vehicle towing a trailer.  A tire blew on the car dolly as it was moving on Interstate 5.
