REDDING, Calif. -

Shasta College was busy Tuesday celebrating Earth Day. The event included live music, prizes and games promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

The theme of the event this year was “Water And The Drought Emergency”.
Different organizations were there to illustrate the connections humans have to the Earth, especially to water resources.

People from all ages were there to learn different ways to keep mother nature healthy.

Uryah Valdez, a student from Chrysalis Charter School said it’s important for everyone to do their part.

"It’s important to not trash the earth because it can get into sewers were animals live either trap them or hurt them," Valdez said.
