Boulder Creek Elementary School Student On His Way To National Spelling Bee

REDDING, Calif. -

A Boulder Creek Elementary School student is on his way to Washington D.C. after beating out 42 other students in a regional spelling bee.

Clint Goodwin, an eighth grade student, will now compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

Goodwin said it wasn't easy to win; he spent a lot of time practicing his words.

"My mom tested me a lot on things like on the way to school," said Goodwin. "We would just be driving to school and she would ask me words."

The Scripps National Spelling Bee will be from May 26 to June 1.
