REDDING, Calif. - A pair of Redding brothers was arrested following a search both in the sky and on the ground.
24-year-old Daniel Bonnie and his older brother, 28-year-old Joseph Bonnie were arrested by Redding police officers on charges of prowling and burglary, respectively.
The search was set-off after a caller dialed dispatch, stating two people were seen in a parked PT Cruiser in the 700 block of Redwood Boulevard, aiming a rifle out the window.
When officers responded, the pair bolted.
Not much later, the CHP helicopter spotted one suspect, younger brother Daniel, hiding under some trees near Caterpillar Road. He was taken into custody.
Following that, someone living at an apartment on Redwood Boulevard returned home to find the second suspect, older brother Joseph, inside their apartment. That witness stated Joseph then took their mountain bike and rode off.
The CHP helicopter was utilized again to track Joseph. Officers arrested him on Redwood Boulevard, still in possession of the stolen bike.
That mountain bike was then returned to its rightful owner by police officers.
As for the rifle that was spotted in the initial call to dispatch, police recovered the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun.
Police said this investigation is ongoing.
