REDDING, Calif. - A new business on Market Street held their grand opening early Friday morning during the Asphalt Cowboys' Pancake Breakfast.
Heidi Prado, the owner of Bella La Vie Wig Boutique, recently opened up her storefront in Downtown Redding.
"I'm giddy obviously. It's just wonderful," she said with a big smile on her face.
She wanted to host a grand opening at the beginning of May.
While laughing, Prado said, "And then I thought 'Silly girl the pancake breakfast will be at your doorstep on the 19!"
The Asphalt Cowboys estimate their pancake breakfast brings around 10,000 people to Market St. also known as Roaring Gulch.
Prado woke up early got down to her store front by 4 a.m. to get it ready. She decorated her store with a cowboy theme and opened her doors.
"This was crazy there were so many people here. It was so much fun," she said. "Everyone was in such a good mood and they had their families."
As the morning progressed people like Janice Portukalian, who were just coming for the pancake breakfast, found their way into Prado's store.
"I came right up to her store there were balloons and it was so festive," Portukalian said.
Prado was taking this time to talk with future clients.
"I have lost my hair. I know what it is like to have to wear wigs, I wear them every day," Prado said. "I'm here to help people that are going through cancer, chemo, through alopecia. I can also help people who just want a new look."
She mentioned she plans on opening up every year during the pancake breakfast.
Prado added because it was her grand opening she was giving away a $100 Visa gift card to a lucky raffle ticket winner.
